Lawrence Alexander, CPA, is a Shareholder in LBMC’s Audit practice with more than 15 years of public accounting experience. She provides audit and assurance services to a diverse client base, with deep expertise across healthcare, manufacturing and distribution, nonprofit organizations, employee benefit plans, captive insurance companies, and Department of Energy (DOE) compliance audits.
Lawrence has extensive experience leading audits for nonprofit organizations, including Yellow Book and Single Audits, and works closely with executive leadership teams, boards, and audit committees to ensure compliance, transparency, and strong financial governance. Her approach is collaborative and detail-oriented, with a focus on helping organizations manage risk, meet regulatory requirements, and support long-term operational success.
Lawrence joined LBMC in 2012 and has played an active role in both client service and firm leadership. She serves on the Board of the LBMC Cares Foundation and is a past Chair of the LBMC Women’s Initiative Network, contributing to the firm’s commitment to professional development and culture.
She is actively engaged in the community, serving as Treasurer for the Mental Health Association of East Tennessee and Chair of A Step Ahead Foundation of East Tennessee. In addition, Lawrence is a Sustaining Member of the Junior League of Knoxville.
Prior to joining LBMC, Lawrence worked as an Audit Associate at PwC in Atlanta, serving clients in the technology and financial services sectors.
Lawrence earned both her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Accounting) and Master of Accountancy from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
